VCCA2026 – The 7th Virtual Conference on Computational Audiology is just around the corner, and we’re thrilled to share some exciting updates!

VCCA2026 Pre-Conference Workshops
One novelty this year is the pre-conference workshops for VCCA2026, designed to provide hands-on learning experiences and in-depth perspectives on key methodological advances in computational audiology. A special thank you to all our workshop organizers for their dedication!
Workshop 1: “From Question to Evidence: Building Your Research and Scientific Communication in Audiology”

📝 Abstract: This workshop provides a comprehensive introduction to conducting research and communicating scientific results in audiology. Designed for early-career researchers, clinicians, and multidisciplinary professionals, the session will guide participants through the entire research journey: from formulating a researchable question to publishing results. The workshop combines conceptual foundations with practical strategies and tools, emphasizing real-world applications in audiology. Supported by AUDITIO, Spanish Journal of Audiology, and the Spanish Association of Audiology (AEDA).

Workshop 2: “A Practical Introduction to Machine Learning for Hearing Science”

Workshop 3: “Computational Models of the Auditory Periphery: From Normal Hearing to Impairment”

JOCA Survey: Shape the Future of the Journal of Computational Audiology
We’re preparing to launch the Journal of Computational Audiology (JOCA) in 2026/27 and need your input! JOCA will serve as a diamond open-access venue for high-quality research in computational audiology, aligning with the focus areas of VCCA and CAN. The journal will be completely free to read and have much lower publication costs than traditional open-access journals, ensuring worldwide contributions and access to knowledge. As a community-based journal, it will be fully managed and run by the research community under a non-profit model.
To prepare for the launch of JOCA, we’d like to gauge interest and collect feedback from the research community.

CAN-SIG Members Meeting and CAN activities in Seoul – A Success!
