Music perception with hearing aids: compression differentially affects musical scene analysis and musical sound quality

Studying listeners with moderate hearing impairments, we observed a general hearing aid benefit for music perception and differential effects of fast and slow hearing aid compression on selective musical listening and sound quality ratings.
