The next biennial International Hearing-Aid Research Conference (IHCON 2026) is scheduled for August 5–9, 2026 (Wednesday to Sunday) at The Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Banff, Alberta, Canada.

The purpose of IHCON is to advance knowledge and facilitate progress in hearing-aid research and development through the exchange of current research findings and technical advances related to the treatment of hearing impairment with hearing aids and other technologies.

The organization of IHCON 2026, as with previous IHCON meetings, will emphasize the international and multidisciplinary nature of the field and the rapid pace of developments occurring throughout the world. Both invited and contributed presentations will address current topics relevant to hearing-aid research.

If you are an advanced graduate student, postdoc, or junior scientist in industry or academia, you may additionally wish to attend The International Hearing Aid Seminar (IHAS), which will be held immediately before IHCON at the same location, on August 3–5, 2026 (Monday to Wednesday).

The deadline for IHCON and IHAS 2026 Abstract submissions will be Wednesday April 1, 2026.

  • My name is Biruk Tesfaye Haile from Ethiopia, Addis Ababa. I’m deaf. I graduated from Addis Ababa University with a BA in Biology department. I’m currently serving as a teacher at Tikur Anbessa ( Black Lion) secondary and preparatory school. So i’m a teacher. I teach biology in sign language to the deaf students. I’m also Ethiopian National Association Of The Deaf Addis Ababa Branch Chairman. Also i’m serving in Addis Ababa Disability Association as a board member.
