Dear all,

The VCCA2024 conference showcased an impressive breadth and quality of research, setting a high bar for future events. We were privileged to host several esteemed keynotes, including presentations by Deniz, Lars, Manohar, and Melanie. Thanks to the dedication of our special session chairs and panel members, the conference featured numerous talks, panel sessions, and workshops. Deniz shared below her secret for viewing the presentations in parallel :-).

Young Scientist Award: Savine S.M. Martens received this honor for her work titled “Unintentional cues in psychophysical spectral ripple tests: Insights from models of acoustic and electric hearing” (Paper ID 26).

Video Pitch Award: Charlotte Garcia was awarded for her pitch on “Translating the Panoramic ECAP Method to Clinic” (Paper ID 17).

VCCA2025

We are excited to announce that VCCA2025 will be chaired by Seba Ausili from the University of Miami.

News and Announcements

  • The Hearing Industry Research Consortium (IRC) has announced its 2024 Request for Proposals (RFP) focusing on successful communication and real-life outcome measures of hearing aid benefit. A total of $300,000 is available for projects of 2-3 years, starting from January 1, 2025. The deadline for submission is August 1, 2024. For more details, visit the IRC website.
  • Join the new Cochrane Crowd task in collaboration with WHO Europe to identify digital health technologies addressing climate-change-related health problems. Volunteers will help classify studies, contributing to a WHO/Europe publication. Participants can earn acknowledgements, Cochrane Membership, and enhance their skills through training.
