In a six-minute space mission, participants complete an adaptive Speech Reception Threshold estimation, select a personally annoying masker, compare speech intelligibility across three masker conditions, and complete an Acceptable Noise Level measure. Pilot data (N = 14; 100% completion; mean time = 6.5 min) showed lower intelligibility for the selected annoying sound (59.2%) than for synthetic (71.7%) and standard masking noise (86.3%).
