We are delighted to welcome you to the abstract submission page of the Virtual Conference on Computational Audiology 2026 (VCCA 2026).

Below you will find information on important dates, together with detailed author and submission guidelines. We hope you will have a smooth and positive experience when submitting your abstract.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

Please read the following instructions carefully, as they will help you prepare and complete your abstract submission correctly.

  • Abstracts should be no longer than 2000 characters (approximately 300 words, see an example abstract).
  • Abstracts must be written in English.
  • Select the topics that best fit your abstract from the list below, taking into account the provisional programme structure available, which outlines the session themes and indicative timings across different time zones.
  • Abstracts must be structured into Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
  • Please do not use all capital letters in your title. Instead please capitalise all content words.
  • Please upload at least one figure or image (up to three images) illustrating your work.
  • Figures must be uploaded in PNG or JPEG format, named as [author_caption].
  • Please provide a one-sentence summary to be displayed alongside the abstract title on the conference website landing page.
  • Include all authors and co-authors, together with their affiliations.
  • The corresponding author must provide a valid e-mail address.
  • Please indicate your preferred presentation format (podium or poster). While we will do our best to accommodate preferences, the final assignment will be determined by the Session Chairs based on scientific scope and overall programme balance.
  • For the purpose of assessing eligibility for the Emerging Scientist Award, authors are informed that eligibility requires the first author of the contribution to be the presenting author and to have less than four years of postdoctoral research experience.
  • During submission, authors must confirm the following statement:
    “I confirm that all submitted materials (text and images) are free of illegal or unauthorised content and are provided under the Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 licence.”

🎬 Presentation formats

  • Podium presentations consist of a 8-minute pre-recorded oral presentation, followed by live Q&A session with the audience.
  • Poster presentations include a high-quality PDF poster uploaded to the VCCA website, together with a 3-minute pre-recorded presentation.

Submit your abstract

Abstracts must be submitted via Microsoft’s Conference Management Toolkit (CMT) following the steps below.

  1. Log in to the VCCA 2026 portal on Microsoft CMT.
  2. If you are new to CMT, create an account on the Register link provided.
  3. Select “VCCA2026” from the list of available conferences.
  4. Complete the submission form by entering the title, authors, and abstract details.
  5. Upload your abstract text (max 2000 characters) and at least one image (PNG or JPEG; up to three images).
  6. Click Submit and wait for the automatic confirmation e-mail acknowledging receipt of your submission.

Both conference registration and abstract submission are free of charge. Please note that at least one author must register for the conference and present the work if the abstract is accepted.

The Microsoft CMT service was used for managing the peer-reviewing process for this conference. This service was provided for free by Microsoft and they bore all expenses, including costs for Azure cloud services as well as for software development and support.

What to expect after abstract submission

  1. You will receive an automatic e-mail confirmation acknowledging the correct receipt of your submission.
  2. If you have not yet registered for the conference, please register here.
  3. Before 17 May, you will be notified by e-mail of the review outcome. The notification will indicate whether your abstract has been accepted or rejected and, in the case of acceptance, the assigned presentation format (podium or poster).
  4. Authors of accepted contributions will be required to submit the final conference materials through the Microsoft CMT platform no later than 7 June. These materials include the pre-recorded presentation video, the associated subtitle file and, where applicable, the poster.
